Lane & Edwards offers a competitive and affordable rent-to-own program for your student. Lane & Edwards works with many area schools to supply instruments, bows, and repair services for those instruments. We are a trusted provider of high-quality violin-family stringed instruments, and we do all setup work in-house. This way, we can ensure that everything that leaves our store is ready to play at its full potential and offer the budding music student the best tools available.
Rentals are priced by instrument and size and quality category. Many rentals are paired with student learners, but step-up rentals are also available. Ask us about premium upgrades and options!
100% of the first year of rent and 50% of all subsequent months rent applies to the purchase of any Lane & Edwards Instrument at any time (consignments not included). For example, a violin rental will accrue a credit of $168 in the first year and an $84 credit each subsequent year. Rental and Maintenance Prices are included below:
- All sizes of violin or viola up to 13” (3/4): $19 + tax
- Adult Violins and violas (14” or larger): $29 + tax
- Cellos up to 3/4 size: $38 + tax
- Full size cellos are available at $59/month
- Basses can be rented with a 6 month commitment and monthly investment of $79.
- All purchases with Lane & Edwards Violins are eligible for 100% trade-in on your next instrument!
What’s included in my rental?
With few exclusions, the maintenance fee covers all repairs needed along the way. All repairs are done in our shop. All instruments are expertly adjusted and free loaner instruments can be provided on a case by case basis should a repair turnaround exceed one day.
Instruments from Lane & Edwards include the following:
- Expert adjustment of bridge, sound post, pegs, and bow
- Bow with real horse hair
- High-quality case with attached nylon cover, or padded nylon bag for cellos
- Perlon-type strings
- Tailpiece with built-in fine tuners
- Rosin
- Shoulder sponge or rest
