Mark Edwards (1952-2026) Mark Edwards Violins opened in 1976, and there was hardly a day spent over the following 50 years that Mark Edwards was not elbow-deep in devotion to the craft of instrument restoration. His dedicated work in sales, and service of all violin family instruments built trusted relationships and a lasting legacy as a luthier, bow repairman, and appraiser in Louisville. It was especially joyful for Mark to watch students grow from their first rental to adult pursuing their musical journeys. As with so many others, Mark fit Matt Lane for his first violin in the late 1980s. By 2005, Lane was working alongside Mark in his shop. The effective partnership that developed over the next 20 years brought thoughtful execution and value to our clientele.
